Construction Supervisor Reports To:
Management Job Summary All field project oversight and supervision for commercial solar installation assigned to; includes schedule and budget compliance, schedule and attend AHJ/utility inspections, quality control, project documentation, reporting, construction plan and installation manual adherence, critical meeting attendance and some customer interaction and management.
General Accountabilities Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and to ensure that company objectives are met.
All Company Safety and OSHA compliance oversight and enforcement.
May require specific project site management per assignment and occasional travel for work assignment.
Create estimated construction schedules and maintain schedules to meet company goals.
AHJ permitting process and follow up to submit and attain building permits (if required) Will require being able to attend and pass all inspection through utility companies and AHJ.
Must be able to arrange all travel within company guidelines and budget compliance based on pre- approval.
Hands on installation work required if required to meet company objectives per site.
Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures.
Review and install all project materials according to code or specific installation product manuals.
Estimate material or worker requirements to complete jobs.
Obtain construction estimates from vendors.
Project oversight:
oversee, coordinate, or schedule the activities of construction workers and laborers to meet company objectives and drive efficiency and profitability for the company.
Communicate directly with managerial personnel on a daily basis, other departments, or contractors to resolve problems or to coordinate activities.
Coordinate work activities with other construction project activities.
Order or requisition materials or supplies.
Locate, measure, and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment, using measuring and marking equipment.
Record information such as personnel, production, or operational data on specified forms or reports.
Project management among all construction and reporting to Management.
Must have superior organizational skills including daily logs, per event and weekly photo taking, written documentation of all construction activities under their direct supervision and overall accountability.
Assign work to employees, based on material or worker requirements of specific jobs.
Job Qualifications Minimum
Experience:
4 years of electrical and commercial solar experience, 4 years of of all construction experience (can be combined), including experience in a supervisory capacity.
OSHA 30 training and must provide certification Must have their own set of basic tools Must be able to supply and comply with all Full PPE requirements per project Must have their own cell phone and laptop computer Must have their own reliable transportation Skills Computer skills; e-mail, outlook calendar, Dropbox or Google Drive proficient Project management Take offs Supervision and goal setting Mathematics Time management Problem solving Strong Communication skills via e-mail and verbal Must be proficient with technology and be able to use a cell phone in the field for documentation and communication Job Type:
